Statement of Faith

The Statement of Faith of this church comprises two forms: a longer form, as a detailed statement of the doctrines of the faith, and a shorter form, as a concise aid to teaching and understanding.

The shorter form of the Statement of Faith is the Abstract of Principles (1858) of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. The longer form of the Statement of Faith is the London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689 (with Chapter 26, Section 4, revised to read as follows: “The Lord Jesus Christ is the Head of the church, in whom, by the appointment of the Father all power for the calling, institution, order, or government of the church, is invested in a supreme and sovereign manner.”).
